Project Description
Heating pads are widely recommended for muscle pain relief and recovery, but prolonged or unattended usage can cause discomfort, skin irritation, or energy waste. This project delivers a compact and intelligent timer-based controller that automates heating pad operation while keeping user interaction simple.
The device is built around the ATtiny85 microcontroller, enabling a minimal hardware footprint with highly efficient power usage. Multiple operating modes allow users to select predefined heating durations or continuous operation, all controlled through a single button interface.
The Challenge
Designing a safe and reliable control system using minimal components while ensuring clear user feedback and predictable behavior was the main challenge.
The Process
Timer logic was carefully implemented to handle multiple press durations. Visual feedback was provided using LED blink patterns. Power switching components were selected to safely handle heating pad loads.

A smart, low-cost timer controller that adds intelligence and safety to standard heating pads.
